As part of the Budget 2014, yesterday Chancellor George Osborne announced that a new theatre tax relief scheme will come into effect from 1st September 2014.
The scheme will benefit theatre productions and regional touring productions which covers opera, dance, plays and musicals by making them eligible for a lower tax break of 20% and 25% respectively.
According to the treasury, the new model will recognise the "unique value that the theatre sector brings to the UK economy".
